Description
This is a gorgeous trophy (SCI Awards) class Roan bull! Superb taxidermy workmanship with a great life-like look and pose. This one is head up, facing forward with a very slight turn to his right looking into the room. On top of being a great looking representation of the species, this one has a huge set of horns that measure just over 26″ (inches) each in length with bases of 9″. Total SCI score is 70 5/8″ which qualifies this set of horns for the Awards class. The only fault we could find with this item is that he had a minor ear repair to the tip or the right ear (see photos). All considered, we have rated this as an “Excellent” quality taxidermy item. This takes into account, workmanship of the item, coloring, pose, size of animal (including horns) and condition.
Overall mount dimensions are 47″ high/tall x 23″ wide x 35″ deep. As with many of the antelope species of Africa, this mount takes a considerable amount of space for display and appreciation. Wildlife mounts can be grouped with like kind or as a type piece for the collection of wildlife mounts. This Roan would make a great addition to any exotics or African collection.
Mount hangs on a single well secured fastener. Hanging bracket is attached and this item is ready for wall display.
